and his ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn appear to be engaged in an intense rivalry over their competing luxury renovations.

The Today show host, 48, who divorced Cassandra in 2016, is getting set to demolish his $3.2million home on ‘s north shore so he can build a $4.5million mansion.

Meanwhile, Cassandra, 51, has reportedly spent up big on a major make over of her own north shore pad, which she bought for $2.3million in 2019.

The former couple are ‘attacking’ the renovation market with ‘gusto’, reports .

According to the publication, Cassandra has built a loft extension at her Neutral Bay home for her eldest daughter Willow, 17.

Built as an art-deco semi-detached with three-bedrooms and two-bathrooms, Cassandra purchased the stylish property after selling off the Cremorne mansion she shared with Karl in 2019 for $9million.

Karl and his wife Jasmine Yarborough, 39, meanwhile, are planning to knock down their 1960s era property in Castlecrag in order to build an all-new lavish sprawl.

Plan for the spectacular new pad include five levels with five-bedrooms and five-bathrooms, a pool and a spa.

Other highlights for the proposed re-build include a courtyard, entertainment room and a three-car garage.

But according to the Women’s Day, Karl and Jasmine may be facing months, even years of red tape if their neighbours object to their elaborate proposal.

Karl and Cassandra were known to be keen renovators in their 21-years of marriage.

Cassandra, who works as a dental nurse, spent most of her adult life conducting herself as a media personality and television journalist. 

Then she put her career on hold to raise her three children – Jackson, Willow and River – who she shared with Karl.

Meanwhile, Karl married his new wife, shoe designer Jasmine, металева in a lavish ceremony in Mexico in 2018.
